Everyone should have the opportunity to learn about computers and programming.

Our Mission

Bring computer science to all students

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to explore and find their passion. We want to give all students a chance to try their hand at programming and introduce them to new opportunities in STEM.

Make programming accessible

Programming can seem like a daunting subject. We want to show that it doesn’t have to be a cryptic art, but that anyone who is willing to work at it can be successful.

Share our passion

Each of us is both passionate and knowledgeable about programming. We want to share both with the next generation of students.

That is why we’re offering this coding club completely FREE OF CHARGE.

All you need to be successful is a computer, a reliable Internet connection, and a desire to learn.

All the lecture videos are available in the ‘Class Resources’ tab under ‘Lecture Videos’

Lecture Program

Each week in the Lecture Series will consist of:

  • One online video that introduces each concept in 15-30 minutes
  • One virtual meeting to review the material covered in the lecture video and guide you through a programming project
  • One optional ‘office hours’ when instructors will be available to answer questions about the projects or material and help debug code

We will be exploring the Python programming language. Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to create your own video games, each of which will incorporate the ideas that are covered in the week’s lecture video. We will walk you through all the steps until you are able to write one completely on your own, from scratch.

Capstone Project / Competition

At the end of the Lecture Series, you will have the opportunity to work with a partner on a capstone project that you will design. You will have 6 weeks to work on the project and create a presentation. At the end, you will have the opportunity to present your hard work to the rest of the group and have the chance to win prizes.

If you want to work with someone in particular, be sure to request them in your application and tell them to do the same!
